To start your day trip from Cairo to Alexandria, the lovely city that was founded in 332 B.C. by the great Macedonian commander and ruler Alexander the Great and served as Egypt's capital for almost 1000 years, you will meet up with your certified Egyptologist guide.

You'll first see Pompey's Pillar, which is located inside the Serapeum of Alexandria. Have breakfast at the hotel, then start your day trip with an Egyptian Museum tour to see the most ancient artifacts inside the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which was opened to the public in 1902 to house the biggest collection of ancient artifacts.

Continue your Cairo explorations to see the Citadel of Saladin, a medieval fortification designed by Muslim Sultan Saladin Al Ayyubi. Before entering the alabaster mosque of Mohamed Ali inside, you will be astounded by the size of the citadel's towers. The citadel was constructed in the 12th century and served as the country's administrative center for approximately 700 years, while the mosque of Mohamed Ali was constructed in 1805 and finished by his son and successor to continue the same dynasty's rule until the Egyptian Revolution in 1952.

Finally, you will be taken to Cairo's oldest market, Khan El Khalili Bazaar, for an unforgettable shopping experience.
